Bobby Hodges Arrested On Homicide Charges

FORT MYERS, FL. -- After conducting an exhaustive criminal investigation concerning an April 12, 2018 fatal traffic crash on Joel Boulevard in Lee County, Bobby Hodges, age 24 of Lehigh Acres, Florida, was arrested for the below felony charges:

VEHICULAR HOMICIDE: 782.071(1) - FELONY 2nd DEGREE
ONE (1) COUNT (MARIAH ELEASE PITTS)

VEHICULAR HOMICIDE: 782.071(1)-FELONY 2nd DEGREE
ONE (1) COUNT (UNBORN CHILD)

In the crash, Mr. Hodges was driving a 2003 Kia northbound on Joel Boulevard at a high rate of speed. He lost control of the Kia, causing the vehicle to overturn several times before coming to final rest in the west shoulder of Joel Boulevard. 

A passenger in the Kia, Mariah Elease Pitts, age 18 of Lehigh Acres, Florida, was ejected and pronounced deceased on scene. Ms. Pitts was pregnant at her time of death, which also resulted in the death of her unborn child.
