He was a dedicated family man, loving father, grandfather, and friend. He worked hard as a semi-truck driver, mechanic and jack of all trades. In his spare time, he was either hunting, fishing, riding his tricycle around town or spending time with friends having a cafecito. During Christmas Eve, you could always find him frying up chicharrones and roasting a pig with a beer in hand and a smile on his face. He taught his daughter, Diosmary math, how to bait a fish hook, troll for barracuda, play checkers, drive a boat and a car, and to not take crap from anyone. He taught his grandson Lazaro to walk, how to shoot and he was there for his 7 am bottle feedings. He loved hunting and fishing so much, his son-in-law Billy took him out to hunt and fish in his wheelchair and walker after an accident in 2007. He was a man of little words, but when it mattered he was always there.
Alfonso was preceded in death by his father Heriberto and his mother, Fela. He is survived by his wife Marisol, his two children Diosmary (son-in-law Billy and grandson Lazaro) and Danny (daughter-in-law Tatiana, grandson Fabian, and granddaughter Camila) as well as his sisters and brother and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten.
