The jury returned the guilty verdict this afternoon following a three-day trial in Moore Haven.
Deputies with the Glades County Sheriff’s Office were conducting traffic enforcement in June 2021 when the defendant sped by in a pick-up truck. He was clocked by radar at 49 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone.
The defendant pulled into a nearby driveway. He told the deputies he was driving someone else’s vehicle. Deputies did a search of the truck and inside was Fentanyl, crack cocaine, and methamphetamine. Rea was taken into custody.
Assistant State Attorney William Dorman III prosecuted the case. Sentencing has been scheduled for May 31st
