Earl Paul Williams, 77 of Alva passed away on December 4th from the dreaded disease of emphysema. He was born and lived in Lee County his whole life. He was a 1957 graduate of Fort Myers High School. He was in the National Guard for 6 years. He and his two brothers, Ralph and Bert, operated G. J. Williams & Sons, a glass shop and scrap yard for many years.
Survivors are Franceil, his wife of 54 years, sister, Norma Bundy of Texas, brother, Bert Williams (Carol) of Alva , sisters Corine Harrison (David Wayne) of Fort Myers, Peggy Miller of Tampa and nephews and nieces. Also, a special neighbor that loved and cared for him, Jackie Willcox and Susan May, who was a most supportive care giver. Two special dogs, Joey and Sophie.
He was Past Master of Tropical Lodge #56 F & AM, a 33? Scottish Rite Mason, Past Patron of Fort Myers Chapter #31 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Araba Shrine, and Elks Lodge #1288 of Fort Myers.
His was a man's man with a personality that made everyone love and respect him as he respected others. He had a gift of laughter and personality that made everyone feel better that they had been in his presence.
A private funeral service was held for the family and interment was in Alva Cemetery.
Everyone is encouraged and invited to come and share the "Celebration of His Wonderful Life" at the Southwest Florida Masonic Center located at 10868 Metro Parkway, on Saturday, December 19th at 7:00 p.m.
