New Visitation Policy At Hendry Regional Medical Center

HENDRY REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER TO IMPLEMENT REVISED VISITATION POLICIES IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19

Hospital Visitation Temporary Restrictions
In an effort to continue to follow the United States Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidelines, and in an abundance of caution for the health and wellbeing of our patients, employees and community, we will begin to restrict visitation to our hospital facility effective immediately.

By restricting visitors we are minimizing unnecessary risks to our patients and staff.

Limited Access Points
We are limiting the access points that employees, patients, and visitors can use to enter the Hospital. This is to ensure that everyone who enters the Hospital has been screened. Public entrance is located on the Olympia Street Main Entrance.

Screenings
All Visitors and Patients will be screened at the Olympia Street entrance of the Hospital.

Examples of the screening questions:
Have you had a fever in the last 3 days?
Do you have a runny nose?
Do you have a fever or flu-like symptoms and other signs of illness?
Have you had exposure to a cold and flu or international travel in the past 14 days

Restrictions for visitors include:
· Respiratory symptoms-cough, runny nose, fever will not be allowed to enter the hospital

· Persons under 12 years of age will not be allowed to enter

· Visitation will be limited to no more than 1 caregiver at one time

Thank you for understanding and support. These changes are being made to protect your loved one, and the loved ones of others in our facility. We will ease the restrictions as soon as possible.

Commonly asked questions about how Hendry Regional Medical Center is working to protect our patients, families and staff.

At Hendry Regional Medical Center, our goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients, families, visitors and staff. During the COVID-19 outbreak, we are taking necessary precautions to keep everyone here safe. We believe in Patient-and Family Centered Care, and our staff is empowered to partner and assist patients and families to help assure that your needs are met throughout your hospital stay.

What should I expect when coming to Hendry Regional Medical Center?

If you do not have cold and flu symptoms, such as cough with a fever, you do not need to do anything before arriving at your scheduled appointment. When you get to the Olympia Street entrance, a member of our staff will ask you a set of screening questions before you enter the building. It is very important that you follow their instructions.

Can I visit a patient who is currently hospitalized at any Hendry Regional Medical Center?

Only if you are the primary caregiver(s) for that patient. To keep the rest of our patients, families and staff safe from a possible exposure to COVID-19, we are limiting visitors to one primary caregiver for each patient. Everyone else, including siblings of any age, may not visit.

What if I have some symptoms of the cold or flu, and we have an upcoming appointment at Hendry Regional Medical Center?

Call the clinic or place where you are having the appointment and tell us about your symptoms. We will ask you additional questions and give you instructions for next steps.

Why is Hendry Regional Medical Center limiting visitors?

COVID-19 may start to spread in our community. To keep our patients, families and staff from getting an infection, we have decided to limit the number of visitors entering our hospital.

My relative is currently receiving inpatient care at Hendry Regional Medical Center. What should I expect?

With the recent change to our visitor’s policy, we can only allow one primary caregiver. If your relative is hospitalized here, and you have symptoms of fever or cough, please do not visit. The clinical staff and providers at Hendry Regional Medical Center are trained on the identification, isolation and treatment of this and other infectious diseases.

If you are receiving inpatient care at Hendry Regional Medical Center, please tell your household contacts to follow these guidelines.
Anyone with signs/symptoms of sore throat, fever, chills, cold, cough, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea should not visit patients in the hospital.

During this respiratory infection season, we are taking necessary precautions to keep everyone at our hospital safe. For this reason, we are making a few adjustments to our visiting policy, limiting our access points and implementing screenings.
