Untold Stories of Southwest Florida - LaBelle, Florida



LABELLE, FL. -- From the WGCU series on Florida History this video explores the beginnings of rural LaBelle to the present day.

From the film's commentary:

"The small town of LaBelle in Hendry County, Florida lured settlers with vast land and rich soil. Since the early 1800s, hunters, trappers, farmers, "Cattle Kings," soldiers and sawmill operators have discovered the picturesque settlement nestled in the oak hammock along the shores of the Caloosahatchee River."
