New Trainees Set To Help Hendry County Law Enforcement

CLEWISTON, FL. -- On Saturday, January 9, 2011, Sheriff Steve Whidden conducted the graduation of the 2nd Sheriff's Citizens Academy.  Twenty-eight participants who dedicated their time over a ten week period, gathered at the Hendry County Gun Range where they were recognized for their commitment.

Hendry County Sheriff Steve Whidden stated, "This is the kind of open communication between the Sheriffs Office and the community that I want to continue to establish in Hendry County."  Sherriff Whidden told everyone who participated to not "be a stranger.  You are part of our organizational family."

The Hendry County Sheriff's Office will be hosting another Citizen's Academy in February.  If you would like to know more about it or are interested in attending the next class, please contact Lt. Susan Harrelle at 863-674-5604 or sharrelle@hendrysheriff.org.
