New Monument Dedicated In LaBelle Park
LABELLE, FL. -- Hendry County and veterans from all over the area celebrated a new monument at the LaBelle Veterans Park Saturday January 8th.
The 11 a.m. ceremony included a color guard from the American Legion motorcycle riders from Lehigh Acres, members of LaBelle's American Legion Post 130, and local dignitaries.
Speakers and those in attendance included Joe Thomas, president of the LaBelle Heritage Museum, Steve Williams of the DAV Chapter 144, and R. P. Middleton of VFW 10100. Also in attendance LaBelle Mayor Paul Puletti, Hendry School Board member Pat Langford, and former Hendry Commissioner Bill Maddox, Jr.,
20 memorial bricks were placed in honor of local veterans.
