Moore Haven Crash Injures Two

Two Injured In Crash US 27 Crash

MOORE HAVEN, FL. -- Yenny Sifventes, 32 of Moore Haven was taken to Hendry Regional Medical Center with serious injuries after a 7 p.m. crash on US 27 and Glades County Road 720.

Sifventes' 2007 Chevy Tahoe was traveling southbound on US 27, with passenger Christopher Sifventes, 16, was in the left turn lane, attempting to turn left on County Road 720. Martha Sofia-Leyva, 50 of Kissimmee  was northbound on US 27 in the outside lane driving a 2011 Toyota Sienna, to the south of Sifventes. 

Sifventes failed to observe Leyva, and pulled out across the northbound lanes.  The front of her vehicle collided into the right side of the Toyota.  Both vehicles came to final rest in the east shoulder of US 27.

Leyva suffered no injuries, but passenger Rafael Leyva, 78 has critical injuries and was taken to Hendry Regional.

All parties were wearing seatbelts. Charges are pending against Sifventes.
