LaBelle Crash Injures One On Bridge Street

Failure To Yield After Stop Sign 

LABELLE, FL. -- 20-year old James Michael Dellecave struck another vehicle carrying three young children in LaBelle  Friday afternoon after failing to yield to oncoming traffic on LaBelle's Bridge Street.

Dellecave was eastbound on Bryan Avenue about 4:20 p.m. in a 2006 Ford 150 truck while Jorge Ramirez Borralles, 26, in a 1999 Dodge 1500 truck was southbound on Bridge Street.  

Dellecave came to a stop for a stop sign at the intersection of eastbound Bryan Avenue and Bridge Street but failed to yield to oncoming southbound traffic on Bridge Street.  

He then proceeded to make a right turn onto southbound Bridge Street, with the left front of the truck striking the right front of of Borralles' vehicle at the intersection.  The Ford came to final rest in the southbound lane of Bridge Street while the Dodge came to final rest in the northbound left turn lane of Bridge Street.   Both vehicles were facing south.

Borralles was carrying passenger Patacillia Gonzalez, 21 and three children aged 2, 3, and 4. All escaped injury, but Dellecave was transported to Lehigh Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. 

Both vehicles ended up with $9,000 in damages.

Dellecave was charged with failure to yield.
