CLEWISTON, FL. On Sunday, April 7, 2013, Hendry County deputies responded to the area of 902 N. Gratton Road, Clewiston, Florida. The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office had received reports of a man standing outside naked with a shotgun.
Upon Deputies arrival they found 59 year old Donald Mulligan standing on top of a truck overlooking privacy fence. When Mulligan saw Deputies he pointed a gun at Deputy Sheriff J. Brown. At that point a neighbor, James Vary, began talking to Mulligan reasoning with him to talk to deputies.
Mulligan walked toward his home and returned wearing clothes and carrying two beers. As deputies approached Mulligan he began to make suspicious movements and was taken into custody and transported to the Hendry County Jail.
Mulligan was charged with Assault on an Officer, use of a Firearm while Under the Influence of Alcohol and Resisting Arrest without Violence. He is currently being held in the Hendry county jail on $8,000.00 bond.
