2020 Hendry Health Fair Brings Out Large Crowd Today

CLEWISTON, FL. -- The annual free health fair at Hendry Regional Hospital brought out hundreds of people today. 

Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. provided dozens of students and their supervising teaching staff to run testing and screening.

Education of the public with health services resources and services including: diabetes screening, cooking demonstrations, anemia testing, bone density and BMI screening, HIV screening, blood pressure, vision and hearing screening and tobacco cessation, and mental health screening among a few of the free tests and screenings being given. 

Local Explorer volunteers demonstrate safe driving tips and using special goggles showed what's it's like to drive under the influence while the kids enjoyed the free food and the bounce house.

Harry Chapin Food Bank was onsite providing free food along with hot burgers, hot dogs and fruit for all.

Dozens of community services and health resource organizations were also on display under a large tent with volunteers and staff ready to answer any question.
