Clewiston, FL (February 11, 2020) – All visitors and vendors entering Hendry Regional Medical Center (HRMC) in Clewiston will now be required to provide a Government issued photo ID as part of an enhanced system to safeguard the patients and employees of the organization.
The new system called FAST-PASS was installed the beginning of February. The FAST-PASS system rapidly identifies, captures and logs visitors and vendors who enter the facility.
Located at all three entry points of HRMC including the Emergency Department, Outpatient Services and the Business Entrance; the new system allows employees to verify who is entering the facility at all times.
David Theroux, COO, in charge of the implementation of the system said “Hendry Regional has purposely modeled this program’s operations after the many other Health Systems in our area who have implemented a visitor ID system.”
Visitors, 16 years and older, will be required to show a valid form of ID and have their picture taken. A visitor’s badge will be printed to include their photo and the location they are visiting. Passes are only valid for 24 hours. Minors who are accompanied by an adult will also receive a badge with the parent/guardians photo on it.
“By accurately collecting information about persons entering our facility Hendry Regional will be better prepared to provide a safe and secure environment for our patients, staff and visitors. By knowing who is in our facility and where they are authorized to visit Hendry Regional is better able to respond to internal and external emergencies,” stated R.D. Williams, CEO.
After April 1, 2020 individuals who do not present a valid form of ID will not be granted access to the facility. Minor exceptions to this rule may be made on a case by case basis.
Individuals with questions about the new system may contact the hospital directly at 863-902-3000.
