LaBelle, Fla. – The transportation for the disadvantaged service provider for Lee, Charlotte, Hendry, Glades and Collier Counties, Good Wheels, Inc., has announced plans to suspend operations at end of business day today, Wednesday, February 19, 2020.
Hendry County says administration is working with local, regional and state organizations in order to ensure that Hendry County residents continue to receive transportation disadvantaged service in our area with minimal interruption.
Hendry County officials say they understand "the concerns and questions that many residents have regarding this issue and will provide updates once additional information is available."
UPDATE:
Beginning at 8am on Thursday, February 20, 2020, residents with questions or concerns regarding the transportation disadvantaged services in Hendry and Glades Counties are asked to contact the following number: 863-612-4700.
Hendry County staff will be available to take calls at 863-612-4700 from 8am-5pm during weekdays until a Transportation Disadvantaged service provider assumes the role for the service area.
UPDATE 2:
MV Transportation will be the emergency Community Transportation Coordinator for Glades and Hendry Counties.
MV Transportation is preparing to resume Transportation Disadvantaged services in the area on Monday, February 24, 2020.
Riders in Glades and Hendry Counties are asked to call MV Transportation at 800-260-0139.
Hendry County is continuing to work with partners around the state to make this transition as seamless and expedient as possible for our residents.
The County will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.
