The front of Maldonado's vehicle collided with Millares and came to a controlled stop facing west. Millares came to final rest facing south and died as a result of the crash.
The crash is under investigation by the FHP.

Emilio Millares Dies In Pedestrian Crash
CLEWISTON, FL. -- Jacqueline Maldonado, 47 of Clewiston, traveling with two children was southbound on W C Owen Ave Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. approaching the intersection of W Alvarez Ave in the right lane as Emilio Millares, 90 was crossing the intersection of W C Owen Ave and W Alvarez Ave in the lanes of travel.
