Raymond E. Courte, Sr., age 85, of LaBelle passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Hope Hospice in Lehigh Acres, FL. Raymond was born September 6, 1925 in Stamford, CT. He is the son of the late Raymond and the late Helen (Yues) Courte.
He was the owner of R & S Towing & Repair Shop for over 25 years in Hollywood, FL. He lived in LaBelle for over eight years. His biggest love was Nascar races.
He is survived by his loving wife Debbie (Friedman) Courte and his best pal Hap-Hap; two daughters: Barbara LeBlance and Jean Mallett; two sons: Raymond Courte, Jr and Richard Courte, eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife May Courte; son: John Courte and brother: Hugh Courte.
Interment was in Hollywood Memorial Gardens North, Hollywood, FL on July 20, 2011. Arrangements by Akin-Davis Funeral Home - LaBelle
Helen Josephine Pelley, age 84, of Lake City died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at home in Lake City. She was born September 7, 1926 in New Orleans, LA., daughter of the late Thomas Newton DeCourcy and Ophelia Mary (Olsen) DeCourcy. She was a former, longtime resident of LaBelle and is a member of Eastside Baptist Church in LaBelle.
She is survived by her sons, Jack Scott Pelley (Rose) of LaBelle and Douglas Wayne Pelley (Cathy) of Lake City, brothers and sisters: Charles, Thomas, Loretta and Clem, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Pelley.
The Graveside Funeral Service was held Wednesday, July 20, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Fort Denaud Cemetery with Pastor Don Murray officiating.
Carolyn Sue Mathews, age 64, of Dade City passed away, July 15, 2011 in Fort Myers, FL. She was born Nov. 18, 1946 in Nashville, GA. She was a resident of Dade City for the past thirty-six years.
Survivors include her husband: Tom Mathews, children: Todd Mathews (Johali) of Seffner and Joanna Schwend (Jeff) of Dade City, mother: Naomi Sally Walker Parrish of LaBelle, brothers: James Kenneth Parrish (Nan) of Fort Myers, Randall Thomas Parrish, Jr. (Vicki) of LaBelle and Thomas A. Parrish (Rebecca) of Lehigh Acres, grandchildren: Courtney, Mya, Loani, Tyler and Kai and seven nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Randall Thomas Parrish, Sr. of Ft. Myers, FL.
The viewing will be held Friday, July 22, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, July 22, 2011, 1:30 p.m. at Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church in Felda, FL with elder Marvin Wingate officiating.
