Suspect Arrested In Clewiston Bike Murder

22-Year Old Shoots Bicyclist In Clewiston Mobile Home Park
On Wednesday, March 21, 2012, Hendry County Investigators arrested 22 year old Raul Angel Ramos of Clewiston, Florida in the death of 46 year old Alexander Escalante.

Escalante was shot on March 25, 2011 while riding his bicycle in the area of Twin Lakes Mobile Home Park in Clewiston, Florida. Hendry County Deputies were called to the scene after motorist in the area reported a man lying in the roadway in a pool of blood.

Investigators developed leads to identify the perpetrator which led to the arrest of Ramos. Ramos has a prior arrest history in Hendry county, including a fugitive arrest and weapons charges.

Escalante had a 2010 Hendry arrest for cocaine possession and intent to sell. The Twin Lakes area is known for drug sales.

Ramos was charged with Homicide and is currently being held in the Hendry County Jail with no bond
