He was employed by U.S. Sugar Corporation for 47 years; he also raised cattle and operated an orange grove on his farm.
He is survived by daughter; Carol Cotton (Alan Parham), granddaughter; Ariana Parham, son; David Cotton (Tammy Wiseman), granddaughter; Zoie Cotton and grandson Ethan Johnson, brothers; Robert "Dub" (Ann) Cotton, John "Dill" Cotton, Troy (Tilley) Cotton all of Clewiston, Freddie Cotton, sisters; Annie Mae (Ken) Roleston, Susie (Mike) Springe, Mary (Devon) Summerlin all of Melton, Florida.
He has a host of nieces and nephews. Roy also has many friends in and around the Clewiston area.
Roy was preceded by parents, his brothers and sisters: Darley Holley, William "Buck" Cotton, Rachel Cooley, Ellie Kelley, and James Cotton.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, March 31, 21012, at Evangel Assembly of God Church of Clewiston where Rev. Gary Corley will officiate. Interment will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clewiston. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m Friday, March 30, 2012 in Akin-Davis Funeral Home - Clewiston.
