Hendry Motorcyclist In Hospital
Motorcycle Hits Truck On State Road 80
CLEWISTON, FL. -- A motorcyclist from Lehigh Acres was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in critical condition after a crash Tuesday in Hendry County.
Joseph R. Fraughton 31, driving a 1995 Honda Motor Cycle crashed on SR 80, west of CR 833 in Hendry County Tuesday afternoon about 3:35 p.m..
According to FHP Trooper Nelson Tineo a Ford-150 truck driven by Estella Torres, 55 of LaBelle was traveling east on SR 80, west of CR 833. Alexandria Marie Leal, 17 of LaBelle was a passenger in the truck.
Fraughton lost control of his motorcycle, traveling west on SR80 as he attempted to negotiate the road curving right and then traveled onto the eastbound lanes and struck the front left portion of the truck. The motorcycle overturned and came to final rest on the grass shoulder of SR 80.
The truck driver and passenger had no injuries.
The truck came to final rest in the north grass shoulder of SR 80, facing northeast. Fraughton was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital. He was charged with driving too fast for conditions and having no motorcycle endorsement. An investigation continues to determine if he was intoxicated.
