County Commission Votes To Raise Tax Rate 10%

County Taking More Money For Property Taxes

LABELLE, FL. -- The Hendry County Board of Commissioners have voted to tentatively raise property taxes for the county by 10% above last years millage rate, making the proposed new rate 8.4909 or $849.09 for each $1000 of property value.

This tax rate is .77 mills higher than last year or 10% more.

The commissioners will make a final vote at the next public meeting Tuesday, September 23 at the LaBelle courthouse.

    It's sad I cannot be there tonight but to be honest, what the hell is the difference. What needs to happen is to get rid of the so called commisioners that have the greatest good old boy system and con job I have ever seen. I have lived here many years and have watched Labelle go down hill for no other reason than greed and if you protest it you are removed from your position of work if it has to do with the county
