LABELLE, FL. -- The Florida Department of Health in Hendry County had two staff members recognized by the Healthy Start Coalition of Southwest Florida at the 5th Annual Golden Baby Shoe Awards on Saturday, August 23rd, 2014 at The Club at Grandezza in Estero, FL. This event celebrates the outstanding contributions of individuals who help give babies a healthy start in life.
Judy Paskvan, recently retired from Hendry’s Healthy Families Program and a member of the LaBelle Kiwanis Club received the “Lifetime Achievement Award”. Ms. Paskvan was very moved by the award and stated “I enjoyed being a part of a team working toward positive change for young families and their infants.”
Robert Bobo, the HIV/AIDS/STI Program Manager, received the “Golden Baby Shoe Award”. Robert Bobo stated “I am thankful for this recognition however the Florida Department of Health in Hendry County deserves the recognition; thank you to my colleagues Dr. Jeffrey Beal, Maribel Gonzalez ARNP, Debbie Goebel LPN, Tony Miracle RN, Pat Thicklin, Sadi Sanchez, Brenda Lastinger, Peggy Baxter RN and Gracie Urias RN as well as the Administrator/Health Officer Patricia Dobbins for her leadership and allowing silos to dissolve so the real work of public health can happen on a daily basis.”
