Marlin R. "Ronnie" "Buford" Hester, age 61, of LaBelle, passed away October 9, 2015 in Lehigh Acres.
He was born Jan. 24, 1954 in Clewiston, FL, to the late Marlin C and the late Irene (Carter) Hester. He worked for many years as an electrician for the Hendry County Maintenance Department. He was attending Christ Central Church.
Survivors include two daughters: Marti Lynn Hester, Bonnie Lee, three brothers: James Robert Hester, Don Richard Hester (Shelly), Robie Dewayne Hester (Cookie) and two sisters: Connie Weaver, Rita Long (Carl) and two granddaughters.
A celebration of his life was held Monday, October 12, 2015 at 10:00 am at Christ Central, LaBelle with Pastor Mitchell Wills officiating. Cremation arrangements by Akin-Davis Funeral Home - Clewiston.
William Douglas McQueen, age 71, of LaBelle, passed away Oct. 10, 2015 in Lehigh Acres.
He was born Oct. 15, 1943 in Beckley, WV, to the late William D. Griffith and the late Shirley Nadine (Grose) Griffith McQueen. He was a resident of LaBelle since 1976 and worked for 43 years for Florida Power & Light.
He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Ann (Wolff) McQueen, sons: William D. McQueen, Jr., Scott Christopher McQueen, sisters: Sandra Reigh Griffith O'Brien, Cheryl Leigh McQueen (Robbie) Yeomans, stepmother: Patricia Griffith (Gil) Gregory and aunts, cousins, friends and coworkers. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Lee McQueen and stepfather: Howard L. McQueen.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of LaBelle with Pastor Preston Long officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of William to Florida Tri County Challenged Athletes Assoc., Hope Hospice and First Baptist Church of LaBelle-Building Fund.
