42 Hendry Arrests In Felon Sweep

Florida Sheriffs Task Force Announces Latest Operation
LABELLE, FL. -- The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with The Florida Sheriffs Task Force recently launched an initiative to remove felons from Florida’s streets. Operation: Felon Sweep focused on removing violent felons, felons with outstanding warrants, and sexual offenders and predators and the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office took an active role in this initiative and to lead the charge in Hendry County.

Total arrests and seizures for Hendry County:

42 felony arrests (19 Felony probable cause and 23 felony warrants), 6 misdemeanor charges, 3 aggravated battery, 1 aggravated assault, 3 child abuse 1 firearm offense, 0.57 grams of cocaine/crack, 45 mg morphine, 8 mg suboxone, $3,133.00 U.S. currency was seized, 20 sex offender/predator checks, and 1 sex offender arrest.

The Florida Sheriffs Task Force pools resources from the 67 Sheriffs’ Offices to address specific areas of concern. Past task forces have dealt with issues such as cyber sexual predators, prescription drug abuse and “deadbeat dads.”
