She was born June 18, 1915 in Saint Catherine, Jamaica to the late Harold Frank Folkes and HIlda (Binloss) Folkes.
Enid was a teacher for many years at a private elementary school in Jamaica. She loved taking care of children. She loved attending church and always participated in church work wherever she lived.
Survivors include her son: Owen Garth (Zona) Laidlaw of Pinehurst, NC daughters: Annette Nadine (Stafford) King of LaBelle and Dawn Marie (Paul) Da Silva of Pembroke Pines, grandchildren: Nicholas Laidlaw, Phillip Laidlaw, Stafford King, Anne-Marie King, Dwayne Da Silva and Jason Da Silva, seven great-grandchildren and nephew, Randolph Roy Folkes Jr.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Betram Leance Laidlaw, son: Lathan Carlesdale Laidlaw, sister: Ruby Campbell, grandson: Eugene King and niece: Joyce Roberts.
A private funeral service was held at Akin-Davis Funeral Home in LaBelle with Dr. Newton Hoilette officiating. Internment followed at Ft. Denaud Cemetery in LaBelle.
