Julio Rivera, Jr, age 16, of Clewiston, passed away September 24, 2012 in West Palm Beach.
He was born Aug. 22, 1996 in Pahokee, FL, to Julio, Sr and Modesta Garcia (Salgado) Rivera. He was a 10th grader at Clewiston High School.
Survivors include his parents, Julio and Modesta Garcia (Salgado) Rivera, two brothers: Pablo Rivera, Christian Rivera and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 28, 2012 at 11:00 am at Saint Margaret's Catholic Church, Clewiston with Father Jiobani Batista officiating. Visitation was Friday from 5-8 at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, Clewiston, FL.
Gerald A. (Jerry) Burr, 89, of Fort Myers was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on Sept. 29, 2012. He served in World War II in the infantry in England, Germany, Austria and France, and was a Past Master of the La Salle Lodge No. 1049 F. & A. M. and Past Patron of Star of La Salle No. 785, both in Niagara Falls, NY. He was an Accountant and later Comptroller at Moore Business Forms in both Niagara Falls and Iowa City, IA. His father, Alfred W. Burr and mother, Beatrice O. Burr preceded him in death.
His is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Jane (McRoberts) Burr of the home, son, James Burr and wife Mary of Iowa City, IA, daughter, Susan and husband Richard Braun of Kimberling City, MO, daughter, Sarah (Burr) Hayes of Iowa City, IA, son, David Burr and wife Karen of Mount Airy, NC; and sister, Betty (Burr-Goodliff) Griffin of Lakeland, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Cremation was arranged by Akin-Davis Funeral Home-Fort Myers with private family services at Signature Healthcare at College Park in Fort Myers. A family "Celebration of Life" is planned for a later date.
