Two Dead In Crash - Speeding May Be Cause

FORT MYERS, FL. -- Two died in a crash Friday morning about 7:28 in what investigators say may  be due to high speed driving and not wearing seatbelts.

A 2003 Kia Sorento driven by Jacqueline Cherry, 37 of Lehigh Acres was eastbound on Buckingham Road in a curve east of Lee County Waste Recovery. A witness stated that the vehicle was being operated at a high rate of speed. 

Mike'Kiria Lynnisha Rogers, 19 of Lehigh Acres was a passenger.

The Kia drove onto the grass on the south shoulder and overturned. Both occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene by Lee County EMS. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.
