Clewiston Museum Offers Tours Of Lake Okeechobee Region

CLEWISTON, FL. -- Eco-Tours are being offered by the Clewiston Museum in Hendry County, Florida on Fridays by reservation. 

The Friday bus tours begin at 8:30 a.m. and returns back to Clewiston at about 2:30 p.m. Travel in a 10-passenger bus from the Clewiston Museum with the Clewiston Museum’s curator Butch Wilson narrating the tour. 

The tour visits STA5 “The Birding Oasis of South Florida,” southeast of Clewiston, followed by a lunch break at Martin’s Marina in Clewiston for a casual lunch on your own.
After lunch Wilson has obtained special permission from the Army Corp of Engineers to travel on the Hoover Dike for great views of Lake Okeechobee from Clewiston to Lake Harbor along the top of the dike and a return back to Clewiston.
