Clewiston Man Arrested In Attempted Homicide Shooting

CLEWISTON, FL. -- On Monday January 11, 2021 at approximately 12:33 am, Hendry County Deputies responded to a caller reporting a shooting in the Twin Lakes area of Clewiston. Upon their arrival they learned the victim’s vehicle had sustained several bullet holes from gunfire.

When Detectives with the General Crimes and Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene it was learned through the investigation that the shooting occurred at the intersection of Twin Lakes Drive and Davidson Road. It was further learned that the shooting stemmed from an earlier incident that occurred in the Lee County.

Detectives learned that 28 year old Samantha Lucio along with 25 year old Manuel Enrique Ortiz responded to the Twin Lake area in search of another subject. They saw the victim sitting in his vehicle at which time Ortiz threatened to shoot up his vehicle if they found “him” riding with the victim. It was later in the evening the victim left his residence and again passed Ortiz, it was at this time the victim saw Ortiz point a gun at him and began firing into the victim’s vehicle.

Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit secured an arrest warrant and placed Ortiz under arrest without incident at approximately 2:20 pm on Thursday January 14, 2021 on charges of Attempted Homicide, Shooting a Deadly Missile into a Vehicle, Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. Ortiz is currently being held in the Hendry County Jail on $250,000.00 bond.

    Oh really reach out to the Henry County Sheriff detectives right? But yet they don't want to hear anything about it they don't even want to hear from the victim one of the victims that was shot at. They expected him just stay there and wait for cops to arrive while he's being shot at is that crazy or what?
