LABELLE, FL. -- Hendry County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching the Labelle area for 25 year old Miguel Angel Nunoz, of 2025 Jeronimo Road, LaBelle.
Last night after a transfer to a treatment facility in Lee County under the "Baker Act", and the release of custody of the inmate to the treatment center; the deputy was returning to the transport vehicle and heard someone shout out, he’s running. Both Hendry and Lee County Deputies on scene tried to stop the subject to no avail.
Nunez was taken into custody on January 19, 2021 at approximately 5:15PM on charges for Outstanding Warrants for Burglary to Unoccupied Vehicle, Grand Theft and Violation of Probation. These are not considered VIOLENT CRIMES said the Sheriff's Office.
Later information was received that the subject may have called someone to pick him up. Information received by investigators was that the subject may have returned home.
Investigators are currently searching for the vehicle and do not believe at this time anyone is endangered.

UPDATE: Nunez was found and is custody in LaBelle this afternoon at 2:51 p.m. Nunez was taken into custody from the home of 990 Tropicana, located within the City of LaBelle through interviews and follow up investigations. Nunez surrendered peacefully and without incident.
Nunez was transported to the Hendry County Jail where he is being held under strict observation pending additional charges from Lee County.
