Stephen Colbert Commentary On Assault On The Capitol January 6th

 CBS' The Late Show with Stephen Colbert commentary on the January 6, 2021 assault on the Capitol in Washington, D.C.

Colbert said, among other caustic comments on the President and some of his Republican followers "“Hey, Republicans who supported this president — especially the ones in the joint session of Congress today — have you had enough? After five years of coddling this president’s fascist rhetoric, guess whose followers want to burn down the Reichstag?”

Colbert's reference to the Reichstag alludes to the 1933 fire of the German Parliament building, four years after Adolf Hitler was sworn in as Chancellor of Germany, and made that fire pivotal in the establishment of Nazi Germany.

Meanwhile, The District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department has issued a $1,000 reward to find persons who made illegal entry to the Capitol on Wednesday. The reward offer with pictures of dozens of those wanted persons is available here:
