Worked At Kelly Tractor 68 Years
She grew up in Bowling Green and graduated from Wauchula High School in 1941 and Florida State College for Women in 1945. She was a resident of Clewiston for 66 years and a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Clewiston. She served the church as organist and Board Member and was active in the Women's Ministry.
She joined Kelly Tractor Co. part time in 1943 and full time in 1945, remaining a dedicated and valued employee for 68 years. At Kelly Tractor, she facilitated the Kelly Foundation Scholarship Program and helped many students achieve a college education.
She contributed to the community serving with the American Cancer Society, the Clewiston Museum, and as secretary of the Hendry Regional Medical Center Board.
Alden is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Walt and Paula Wyse of Anderson, SC and Joe and Melinda Wyse of Lexington, KY; sister Annette Hunter of Bartow, FL and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be 9-11 am Friday, December 30, 2011 and funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Clewiston, with Pastor John Hicks, officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the Alden Wyse Memorial Fund c/o the First United Methodist Church of Clewiston.
