Hendry-Glades Obituaries

Kyra R. Watson, age 68, of Clewiston, passed away October 7, 2012 at the Hope Hospice facility in Lehigh Acres, FL after a four year struggle with cancer. Kyra was born to Bertrice Shaw and Wiley C. Robertson on Nov. 29, 1943, in Laurel, MS.

Kyra received degrees from Mississippi State College for Women and LSU. She taught in high school, at Mississippi State and Palm Beach C.C. Like her parents Kyra was a teacher seven days a week, whenever needed: in the home, church, association, and as a special worker for the Florida Baptist Convention. She worked tirelessly at improving Sunday School, Discipleship Training, Missions Education and the WMU in her church and the Big Lake Baptist Assn.

People who knew Kyra remember her as a gracious and caring person, selflessly giving herself to serve the needs of her family and her neighbors. Her life was characterized by compassion and consideration for the struggles of others.

Kyra is survived by her husband, Earl C "Bill" Watson, two sons Kyle of Jackson, MS and Timothy (Jessica) of Meridian, MS, two grandsons, George Montgomery and Colin Timothy one brother, Garland Robertson (Laura Lanette) of Austin, Texas along with many other relatives and close friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday Oct. 9, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Clewiston with Pastor Todd Buck officiating. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am October 11, 2012 at the Salem Baptist Church, Collins, MS. Interment will be in the Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery in Collins, MS.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be sent to the LOTTIE MOON Christmas Offering of any SBC Church.

Richard A. Morton, age 58, of LaBelle, passed away October 7, 2012 in LaBelle, FL. He was born Oct. 31, 1953 in Montpelier, OH, to the late Richard Arthur Morton and Frieda G. (Crawford) Morton.

Richard was a member of the Moose Lodge in LaBelle, he loved fishing, playing golf, but most of all loved being the drummer in the band Country Impact.

He is survived by one son: Dustin Lucas, mother: Frieda G. Stark (Pretz), brother: Terry L. Morton (Lois), sister: Tamara J. Peterson (Pete), grandchild: Macartney Lucas and loving dog Candy.
