50th Wedding Anniversary For Pastor And Wife

Cliff And Kathy Avery Celebrate 50 Years Together

LABELLE, FL. -- The community is invited to the 50th anniversary celebration of Cliff and Kathy Avery on Sunday, January 20th in LaBelle.

The Church family of LaBelle Assembly of God and the Avery’s invite everyone to drop by for a quick visit following the 11:00 a.m. service. Pastor Avery feels like this will be a once in a life time event for him and Kathy.

Cliff and Kathy met in Washington state while he was serving in the U.S. Air force. Pastor Avery says he was a new Christian and was asked by his pastor to give his testimony on a local radio station. While at the station a young red head with a beautiful voice was singing, the rest as they say, is history.

The Avery’s credit Christ for their marriage longevity. The pair began the pastorate in LaBelle, July 4, 1977, full time at $25 a week. At that time their family consisted of Cliff & Kathy and their three sons David, John and Troy.

David and His wife Lisa serve as youth pastors at Calvary Chapel Worship Center in New Port Richey Florida. They have a son Nick, who loves sports and a newly married daughter and son-in-law Alyssa and Tyler Peterson of New Port Richey.

The festivities begin with David Avery speaking in the 9: 45 and 11:00 a.m. Services. He is bringing with him special music in the form Alyssa Peterson.

LaBelle Assembly of God is located at 123 Fraser Avenue, across for the Edward A. Upthegrove Elementary School. For more information call 675-0900.
