Midnight Crash - Unknown Driver Leaves Two Injured
Driver Flees - Two Passengers Seriously Injured
LABELLE, FL. -- A crash of a 2008 Dodge Caravan at midnight Thursday morning left passengers Linda Lee Cypress, 29 of Clewiston and Juan Carlos, 33 of Clewiston in serious condition.
Cypress was taken to Broward General Hospital and Carlos to Lee Memorial Hospital.
The minivan was traveling south on CR 833 approaching CR 846 with a left-hand curve in the roadway. The unknown driver failed to negotiate the curve correctly. As a result the vehicle traveled into the grass center median where it began to rotate counter clock wise.
It then traveled into the southbound shoulder of CR-833 where it overturned and collided with a tree. The final resting place was in the southbound shoulder of CR-833 against a tree facing east.
At this time it is undetermined who was the operator of the motor vehicle at the time of the crash. This crash is still under investigation.
