Hendry County Deputy Arrests Three Youths And Adults For Burglary
LABELLE, FL. -- On Tuesday January 1, 2013, at approximately 6:00 am Deputy N. Krause was beginning his shift in the area of Oak Haven Drive, in LaBelle, Florida, when he observed three males wearing dressed in dark clothing and jackets walking through the yards.
Deputy Krause made contact with the three males and identified them as 16 year old Jose Lopez, 17 year old Joseph Rodriguez and 15 year old Damian Wilson. Deputy Krause spoke with all three of the juveniles and found that their stories were inconsistent and continued to change. The juveniles were then taken into custody and charged with Loitering and Prowling.
After placing the subjects in the rear of the patrol car, the deputy located a face mask a short distance from where the subjects were stopped. In the same area he located two GPS systems lying in the grass.
After locating the owners of the GPS systems deputies located a vehicle parked in the wooded area near the Oak Haven community. Deputies spoke with the driver Ascencion Rodriguez 18 years of age, and passenger, 13 year old Justin Valdez. Both Rodriguez and Lopez admitted they knew their friends were going to commit a criminal act but didn't contact law enforcement. After placing both individuals under arrest the vehicle was towed. Deputies found inside the truck a bottle of tequila under the front passenger seat.
Both Rodriguez and Lopez were arrested and taken to the Hendry County Jail; while taking Lopez into custody, deputies located a wood pipe in Valdez’ possession, which tested positive for marijuana.
