Alcohol Related Crash Kills 81-Year Old

Alcohol Factor In Deadly Crash - Driver Charged With Manslaughter

IMMOKALEE, FL. -- According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an alcohol impaired 26-year old driver caused a crash that killed an 81-year old man in downtown Immokalee, Florida this morning about 8:55 a.m.

Victor Felix Moreno, of LaBelle traveled in a 2004 Ford Explorer east on Immokalee Drive on the eastbound lane and was approaching the intersection of North 9th Street in Immokallee and ran a stop sign. 

Joel M. Feinson, of Naples was traveling north on North 9th Street on the northbound lane and was approaching the intersection of Immokalee Drive as Moreno ran the stop sign at the intersection as Feinson's 2008 Lexus proceeded north and entered the intersection. 

Moreno's vehicle front struck Feinson's vehicle's left side on the east central portion of the intersection. The impact caused the Ford to travel in a northeasterly direction onto the north shoulder of Immokalee Drive east of the intersection where it's front struck and knocked over a "No Parking" sign with post, then continued to travel in a northeasterly direction on the north shoulder where it's front subsequently struck a standing tree. 

The Lexus came to final rest faced in a northerly direction straddling both lanes of Immokalee Drive east of the initial area of collision.

Moreno suffered only minor injuries and was charged with DUI manslaughter.
