Serious Injuries In Rural Crash

Five In Family Taken To Hospital After SUV Overturns

ALVA, FL. -- A crash in the rural town of Alva left three people with injuries after a Ford Explorer overturns. 

At 6:15 a.m. Monday, a 1999 Ford SUV was traveling east on Palm Beach Blvd in the outside lane near the intersection of Bateman Road.

For unknown reasons, driver Tammy J. Aguilar, 41 of LaBelle lost control and entered the south shoulder. After entering the south shoulder, the vehicle began to rotate in a counter clockwise direction, then reentered Palm Beach Blvd at Bateman Rd and traveled in a northeasterly direction striking the curb on the median with it's left tires. 

 Consequently, it overturned in the median and ejected three occupants then came to final rest facing southwest in the eastbound inside lane.

Aguilar was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, and 20-year old Kevin Thomas Hellard, Jr and his 37-year old father Kevin Hellard, Sr. all of LaBelle was taken to Lee Memorial with minor injuries.

Christie Lynn Helllard, 38 of Knoxville, TN was taken to Lee Memorial with serious injuries and 18-year old Ryan Hellard of LaBelle was transported also with critical injuries.

The FHP says no one was wearing seat belts in the vehicle.
