More Time To Explore Hendry History
LABELLE, FL. -- Joe Thomas, president of LaBelle Heritage Museum, announced the museum's 150 South Lee Street location will open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:45 to 11:45 in the morning starting May 23 and ending June 28. Thomas said this will not effect Thursday and Friday afternoon hours when volunteers are available.
LaBelle Heritage Museum recently purchased the one-hundred year-old William H. Poole store at 360 North Bridge Street, which will undergo some renovation and modification before exhibits can be moved there and displayed. Thomas added the Edward C. Warren rotary steam engine, currently on display at 150 South Lee Street, will be relocated to the riverfront on DeSoto Avenue north of Barron Park.
Opening LaBelle Heritage Museum during morning hours is a pilot program to determine if earlier hours increase visits from LaBelle residents and others interested in learning more about LaBelle's history and heritage.
