Highest Ever Gas Prices This Year

With elevated prices across much of the country for prolonged periods, 2012 brought the highest average price ever for U.S. consumers: $3.60 per gallon.

Average retail gasoline prices in Florida have risen 7.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.34/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 8,237 gas outlets in Florida. This compares with the national average that has increased 3.0 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.27/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Including the change in gas prices in Florida during the past week, prices yesterday were 4.7 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 1.4 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 13.2 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 1.7 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
